The City of Cape Town’s fire and rescue service is battling a fire in the Bo-Kaap area, which was reported at 11am tody, Frida February 27.
The fire is situated above Military Road.
Fire and rescue service spokesman Mark Bosch said strong winds were fanning the blaze, making conditions difficult for firefighters.
"Four fire engines, one water tanker, and two Wildland firefighting teams have been dispatched to the scene," he said.
An incident command team is also managing the response to the fire.
Mr Bosch urged residents to stay clear of the area to allow emergency services to work.
