A woman from Rocklands in Mitchell’s Plain who was reported missing last week has been found safe.
Gabriella Geyer was last seen at around 5am on Saturday, April 4, on Long Street in the city centre. She was reported missing at Cape Town Central police station after failing to make contact with her family and friends for several days.
At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a white dress, a black coat and heels.
Western Cape police spokesman Thembakazi Mpendukana confirmed that Ms Geyer was "found safe and sound today".
Her disappearance sparked widespread concern across the community, with many residents taking to social media to pray for her safe return.
A family member, Leroy Brent Gurling, expressed relief at her safe return, thanking members of the public who helped raise awareness.
"During this time, we kindly ask for privacy as the family processes the recent events.
"We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who shared her story and helped bring awareness to her disappearance. Your support and efforts played a significant role in bringing her home safely," he wrote as a comment on social media.

Just on Tuesday, April 7, he posted on Facebook appealing for help to locate Ms Geyer.
