The Suidoosterfees returns to Artscape from Wednesday, April 29 to Sunday, May 3, under the theme “Home”.
Now in its third decade, the festival continues to serve as a platform for arts and culture in the city.
This theme is a dual celebration, acknowledging Cape Town - the festival's cherished home for over 20 years - and the profound sense of belonging and community the annual event fosters.
Festival organisers said that for festivalgoers, artists, sponsors, and theatre-makers, the Suidoosterfees is a place of gathering, a "living home" where diverse languages, sounds, and people connect through the universal language of art and music.
Mayor Geordin said the Suidoosterfees serves as an important platform for celebrating and strengthening Cape Town’s diverse arts and cultural landscape.
"The City is proud to support a festival that brings together music, theatre, lifestyle, and visual arts experiences while also creating meaningful opportunities for artists and creatives from across our communities, including rural areas."
“Beyond its cultural significance, the festival plays a vital role in supporting our local economy by attracting visitors, creating work opportunities, and sustaining the broader creative sector."
