As the long weekend approaches, the V&A Waterfront is urging visitors to plan trips carefully due to ongoing roadworks within the precinct that may lead to traffic congestion.
In response, the V&A Waterfront is providing several free weekend parking alternatives to ease access and improve the visitor experience.
To mitigate the impact of the construction, visitors are encouraged to utilise specific parking garages offering complimentary weekend parking at the Silo, Clock Tower, and Battery Park from Friday, May 1, until Saturday, October 31.
The Waterfront's management also advised that for smoother entry, visitors should consider alternative access points, including Helen Suzman Boulevard at Portswood Road and Granger Bay Boulevard, for parking closer to the Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre.
Traffic marshals and clear signage will be strategically placed at the affected areas to guide motorists, manage traffic flow, and ensure pedestrian safety.
Despite the necessary infrastructure improvements, the V&A Waterfront says they remain fully open and operational.
Visitors are reminded to allow extra travel time and consider using the designated free parking areas.
