A family-friendly dining experience at the V&A Waterfront has taken a step forward, with Cape Town Fish Market introducing a newly upgraded kiddies play area designed to make meals out easier for parents and more enjoyable for children.
Speaking to Capetowner, general manager Ambrose Thomas said the restaurant’s focus is increasingly on creating a welcoming space for families.
The restaurant already leans into a shared dining culture, with menus designed around platters and combination meals meant for the table.
“Our food is built around sharing, with a wide range of platters and combo options that encourage families and groups to sit together and enjoy meals in a relaxed, communal way,” said Thomas.
For families dining with children, the biggest change is the introduction of a dedicated indoor play area, supported by childminders.
“We understand that dining out as a family needs to work for everyone,” Thomas said. “That’s why we’ve created a safe, designated kiddies play area where children can be entertained while parents enjoy their meal. Our childminders are there to ensure the kids are looked after, so parents can genuinely relax.”
The restaurant has also introduced a dedicated kids’ menu, along with a Thursday offer where children eat free for loyalty app members.
“We want to make family dining more accessible and enjoyable,” Thomas added. “Between the play area, the kids’ menu, and our loyalty rewards, it’s about removing the stress and making Cape Town Fish Market a place where families can spend real quality time together.”
He encouraged guests to join the loyalty programme via www.ctfm.co.za or by downloading the Cape Town Fish Market app from the Apple App Store.
With its combination of seafood favourites, sharing-style dining, and supervised play facilities, Cape Town Fish Market is positioning itself as a go-to family destination at the V&A Waterfront, where parents can unwind while children stay happily engaged.
