After a week of strong wind gusts that swept across Cape Town, calmer conditions are expected heading into the weekend.

The Mother City experienced strong south-easterly winds this week, with gusts reaching up to 70km/h on Wednesday, according to weather forecasts. The windy conditions followed several days of blustery weather across the metro.

Looking ahead, residents can expect typical winter conditions, with daytime temperatures hovering around 17°C to 19°C and cooler nights.

June is traditionally Cape Town's wettest month, with rain and cold fronts remaining a regular feature of the forecast.
