The District Six Community Day Centre (CDC) is inviting the community and local businesses to join an initiative aimed at restoring dignity and comfort to elderly residents, this Mandela Day.
Along with central business district (CBD) health facilities, the centre is spearheading an adult diaper drive to support those in need.
District Six CDC health committee member Crispian Swarbreck said the drive was particularly focused on supporting 14 old-age homes located within the CBD catchment area.
"However, the mission has expanded to include broader outreach, ensuring that donations also reach needy individuals through various area and district health services across the region," he said.
Local companies and office departments looking for a worthy cause to support this Mandela Day are encouraged to participate.
A small act of kindness, such as a donation, can make a significant difference in the daily lives of many senior citizens.
