Cape Town Central police station's community police forum recognised members who went beyond the call of duty to keep their community safe.
Station detective constable Claude Sucks, visible policing Sergeant Aaliyah Alli, station commander secretary Zelda Bussey, and crime information management and analysis centre Captain AJ Brink each received R500 grocery vouchers.
They were recognised during the monthly CPF meeting on Thursday, July 2.
The CPF provides monthly grocery vouchers to nominees, including police staff and civilians, for keeping the community safe and going beyond the call of duty ("Cape Town Central police forum empowers community to combat crime", June 5)
Their respective heads of department were motivated by how they contributed to an arrest, a conviction, the smooth running of the office administration, and ensuring that crime statistics are accurate.
CPF chairman Marc Truss said that it was always a pleasure to recognise "good work".
He said that anyone could be rewarded for preventing and reporting crime and being of service to their community.
Truss also urged residents to report crime immediately to the police via the SAPS Mobile Application or use the City of Cape Town’s mobile application and the 021 480 7700 emergency number, rather than waiting for community meetings.
