DHL Stadium is expected to be packed on Saturday, with up to 62 000 fans expected to attend the Springboks’ clash with the All Blacks.
Cape Town is preparing for major traffic volumes and thousands of rugby fans when the Springboks face the All Blacks at DHL Stadium on Saturday, August 29.
The match is sold out, with a capacity crowd of 62 000 expected for the 5.10pm kick-off. The City of Cape Town, SA Rugby, SAPS and other partners have put a Transport Management Plan in place to manage traffic and spectator movement around the stadium, Green Point and the CBD.
Fans are being encouraged to plan their journeys early and use public transport or shuttle services where possible.
MyCiTi shuttles
Dedicated MyCiTi event shuttles will operate from five locations from 11.30am, ahead of the stadium gates opening at noon.

- Thibault Square
- CTICC
- UCT
- Bellville Velodrome
The shuttles will use a dedicated, coned-off bus lane to help fans avoid traffic congestion.
After the match, the last return shuttle will leave the stadium at 22:30.
Parking
Parking around DHL Stadium is limited, but fans can park in the CBD and use the shuttle services or walk along the FanWalk to Green Point.
The City will provide 475 free parking bays at Civic Centre for ticketed rugby fans on a first-come, first-served basis from 11:00.

Free on-street parking in the CBD will also be available from 1pm, subject to parking restrictions.
Fans using e-hailing services should use the dedicated facility at P14 on Green Point Main Road, between York Road and Wigtown Road.
Road closures
Motorists should expect increased traffic, temporary closures and restrictions around the CBD, Green Point and stadium precinct.
Road restrictions will be in place from 6am to 10.30pm on Saturday, August 29, affecting:
- Granger Boulevard, between Green Point Circle and Beach Road
- Beach Road in Granger Bay
- Fritz Sonnenberg Road
- Stephan Way
- Vlei Road
- Fort Wynyard Street
- Granger Bay Boulevard
With a full stadium and large crowds expected in the surrounding areas, fans and residents are encouraged to allow extra travel time and plan their routes before heading out.
If you're heading to the match, don't wing it. Get there early, use the available shuttle services where possible, and expect delays around Green Point and the CBD.
