Johannesburg - Cashbuild on Tuesday said its revenue was up by 21 percent in the first quarter of its 2007 financial year compared with the same quarter last year.
New stores opened since 1 July 2005 contributed 12 percent of the increase, whilst existing stores increased by 9 percent.
Transactions through the tills increased by 24 percent with new stores adding 15 percent and existing stores growing by 9 percent, it said.
Units sold increased by 19 percent. New stores added 11 percent whilst existing stores added 8 percent to the growth.
Two new stores were opened during this quarter bringing the number of stores trading at the end of the quarter at 152. One store was relocated during this quarter. Its South African stores now number 126.
The group in a statement said it is pleased with the trading results for the quarter with the effect of corrective measures positively contributing to revenue for the quarter.
