In a statement, police said that on Saturday February 22, at around 1pm, the women and man entered the jewellery store at the Alfred Mall at the Waterfront.

It was reported that they enquired about the products in store and asked to take a look at the jewellery. One of the women fitted on a pendant, after which they left the store. A few minutes later, they returned to the store while the shop assistant packed the jewellery away, and asked to see the pendant again. After the shop assistant helped them, they left the store again.
