The city didn’t wait for the weekend to catch a vibe.

Jazzy grooves, soulful melodies, and the unmistakable Cape Town energy took over Greenmarket Square on Wednesday, March 25, as music lovers from all corners pulled up for the Cape Town International Jazz Festival's free concert — setting the tone for the bumper two-day event.

Durban-born Palesa Nomthandazo Phumelele Modiga, professionally known as Zoë Modiga turned the CTIJF free concert on Greenmarket Square into a soul-stirring experience the crowd won’t forget anytime soon. Draped in ethereal angel wings, she floated across the stage with velvet-smooth vocals, effortless grace, hypnotic dance moves, and a presence that felt almost otherworldly.
