Luitingh Alexander Musical Theatre Academy (LAMTA) is set to light up the stage this winter with Killer Queen, its latest annual dance production celebrating the music of legendary rock band Queen.
The production opens at Theatre on the Bay on Thursday, June 4 and runs until Saturday June 20.
Created by Naledi Award-winning founders Anton Luitingh and Duane Alexander, the showcase combines choreography, striking visuals, and some of Queen’s biggest hits, including We Will Rock You, Somebody, To Love and We Are the Champions.
The production follows the academy’s recent success with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, which earned multiple honours at the Naledi Theatre Awards.
Featuring choreography by a team of leading creatives, Killer Queen will showcase the talents of first- to third-year LAMTA students in a two-act performance celebrating one of the world’s most iconic bands.
Performances take place nightly at 8pm, with Saturday matinees at 3pm.
