Comedian Dalin Oliver will launch his biggest national stand-up tour to date Stuck in Dubai, at the Baxter Theatre Tuesday, July 21, to Saturday, August 1.

The tour follows the show's debut at the National Arts Festival in Makhanda, where it earned Oliver his third Ovation Award.

Inspired by a real-life travel mishap, Stuck in Dubai combines storytelling, observational humour and Oliver's performance style to explore life's twists and turns.

"Cape Town is home. It's where I found comedy, where I learnt my craft and where people took a chance on me before anyone knew my name," Oliver said. "To kick off my biggest tour with the audience that has supported me from day one is really special."

Oliver said the show is based on one of the most stressful experiences of his life, which later became one of his funniest stories.

"Every comedian hopes life hands them stories worth telling. I definitely didn't expect getting stranded to become the inspiration for an entire show," he said.

After the Cape Town run, Oliver will take Stuck in Dubai to venues across South Africa, including Hilton, Kimberley, Bloemfontein, Paarl, Durban, Johannesburg, Gqeberha and Stellenbosch.

The tour will also include performances at the Bitesize Festival in London from August 14 to 16 and the Stockholm Fringe Festival in Sweden later in August.
