Cape Town City Ballet will bring its dark take on Dracula back to Artscape Theatre this Halloween, with the production returning on Wednesday, October 28.

Choreographed by David Nixon CBE, Dracula combines classical ballet with gothic storytelling, sensuality and drama, taking audiences into the world of Bram Stoker’s legendary vampire.

The production stars leading principals Kirstél Paterson and Leusson Muniz, with the full cast announcement still to come.

Nixon’s choreography brings a more physical and dramatic edge to the classical form, while minimalist staging, atmospheric lighting, period costumes and striking set design create the production’s shadowy world.

The Halloween season will feature just six performances, running from Wednesday, October 28 to Sunday, November 1.

Evening performances take place on October 28, 29, 30 and 31 at 7.30 pm, with matinees on October 31 at 2 pm and November 1 at noon.

Tickets cost between R250 and R500 and are available through Webtickets and Artscape Dial-A-Seat on 021 421 7695.

The production is not suitable for children under 13.
