The fifth annual Southern Mail Wynberg Family Festival has partnered with the Western Cape Health Department to promote Covid-19 vaccination – and festival-goers will be able to get vaccinated at a pop-up vax site at the event.
It takes place at Maynardville Park, Wynberg from Thursday to Sunday December 16 to 19 and will include performances by top local artists and entertainers and DJs, the very best local gourmet and street food vendors, top quality food trucks, a beer garden, an amusement park as well as local exhibitors and traders.
A major drawcard at this year’s event will be the Wynberg Festival Talent Search in which R5000 is up for grabs. The contest is open to comedians, solo artists, vocal and dance groups, but not live bands.
All patrons will be screened for Covid-19 before entering the main gates and there will be a holding area for anyone showing symptoms of Covid-19.
There will be Covid-19 officers to ensure that the event remains completely compliant with regulations.
“In an effort to make vaccination even more accessible the festival is partnering with the Western Cape Health Department to turn this year’s festival into one of the most exciting pop-up vaccination sites,” says festival organiser Rozario Brown.
Tickets to the Southern Mail Wynberg Festival are now available at Computicket, Shoprite, Checkers and House & Home stores at R55 each, including service charges. No tickets will be on sale at the gates. Children under the age of six enter for free if accompanied by a parent. Those who buy tickets may claim back their R55 if they decide to get vaccinated at this event.
