■ Violinist Daniel Röhn will perform with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra (CPO) on Sunday February 18 in the enhanced acoustic of the Artscape Opera House, at 8pm. On Saturday February 24, he will give a recital, partnered by François du Toit, for the Cape Town Concert Series at the Baxter Concert Hall, at 8pm. The CPO, under the direction of Jochen Rieder, will perform Kodaly’s Concerto for Orchestra and the Symphony no 9 by Dvorak, From the New World. This concert brings the CPO’s 12th International Summer Music Festival to an end. For the Concert Series, Röhn and Du Toit will play the Kreutzer Sonata (Beethoven) and works by Brahms, Suk, Wieniawski, Bloch, Hubay and Sarasate as well as Kreisler’s Grave in the style of Bach and Kreisler arrangements of works by Paganini and Tartini.
