Music academy hosts year-end concert

Mitchell’s Plain Music Academy celebrated the festive season at their family day and year-end concert.

The music school’s concert on Saturday December 11 was called Soundtrack of my life.

Students sang songs from iconic musicals and movies.

Principal Trevino Isaacs, playing the keyboard, said they are proud of students and staff.

Principal Trevino Isaacs said the students really showed their growth throughout the year.

“We are so proud of our students and staff who have worked so hard. We have been doing our classes online as well to observe Covid-19 protocols. Even though we had to adapt to this pandemic, we did really well to continue the learning and never losing our love for music,” he said.

Adrian Bothma did a rendition of the song Footloose to the delight of the crowd on Saturday December 11.

Mr Isaacs thanked the newly-opened venue, Deannie Landgoed, in Stellenbosch, for accommodating the school.

“Thank you to Deannie Hattingh and Neil Hattingh for welcoming us and having us as their first outdoor event during the pandemic,” said Mr Isaacs.
