Visitors to the Two Oceans Aquarium can watch feeding at the exhibits.
After more than two years of being unable to offer advertised feeding times due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Two Oceans Aquarium has announced that the public can once again view feeding at all three large exhibits.
These include the diver feeds in the I&J Ocean Exhibit, the Save Our Seas Foundation Shark Exhibit, the Kelp Forest Exhibit, as well as penguin feeds.
The feeding times for the Save Our Seas Foundation Shark Exhibit, which is the largest exhibit and houses the ragged-tooth sharks, are on Saturdays at noon.
The I&J Ocean Exhibit, which houses stingrays, musselcracker, grunter and shoals of other fish species, will have diver feeds on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, at noon.
The Kelp Forest Exhibit at the Two Oceans Aquarium is one of a handful of kelp forests on display in the world. The exhibit holds 800 000 litres of water and giant kelp plants, as well as a myriad fish – many of them endemic to South Africa. The Kelp Forest Exhibit is fed on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, at noon.
The aquarium also houses two colonies of penguins – African and Rockhopper penguins. They are fed daily at 11.30am and 2.30pm
