Healthy Living Alliance (HEALA), a coalition of civil society organisations in South Africa advocating for equitable access to affordable and nutritious food, aiming to build a more just food system, hosted a media meet and greet at a Cape Town hotel on Thursday June 5.
The Johannesburg based organisation teach officials, civil society, communities and the public about actions the government can take to build a more equitable food system.
They also convene civil society and social justice organisations to share information, strengthen networks and organise around food justice campaigns.
They carry out mass media campaigns to build greater public awareness of how South Africa's food system determines access to affordable, nutritious food and the actions the government can take to build a healthier food environment for all.
Zukiswa Zimela, communications manager for Healthy Living Alliance (HEALA), addresses the media in Cape Town.
