Mr Nqadini's participation in international and local productions includes Porgy and Bess, Mandela Trilogy, Salome, Der Fliegende Holländer, Carmen, and, more recently Tosca and Lucia di Lammermoor.
In addition, he appeared in numerous choruses' concert performances of African Angels, Grace Notes, Spirituals, Icons, and in oratorios like Mozart Requiem and Handel’s Messiah.
His final two appearances with the chorus were in April this year at the Artscape Foyer Concert Opera On the Go and the Fauré Requiem in Toringkerk, Paarl.
Cape Town Opera’s artistic director, Magdalene Minnaar, said: “Lula's voice and joyful spirit will be greatly missed by the entire company, and our heartfelt condolences go to his family and friends.”
