The Ikamva Labantu team, Cape Town
To you, our amazing donors, thank you for enabling a quick and efficient response to the most pressing needs of senior citizens living in the township communities.
Your deliveries have begun and the first deliveries to our beloved senior citizens and early childhood development learners took place last week.
It was no small task – from packing and sorting to distribution. The Ikamva Labantu heroes worked around the clock to make sure everything was done efficiently, effectively and hygienically.
The team went out to each and every participant, door to door, to deliver the care packages. They were welcomed with open arms and joyful hearts as the seniors got to see a familiar face – even if just for a moment.
If you have not yet partnered with us in our efforts to assist in flattening the curve, your urgent action is needed and hugely appreciated.
We encourage you to spare a thought today for those who are feeling lonely and isolated. The senior clubs provide a place of safety, comfort and community. We hope our seniors are able to return to their place of joy soon.
Please stay safe. From our team to your home – we wish you a safe and healthy season despite the unknowns we all face.
With deep gratitude.
