A train has caught fire at the Cape Town train station.
Emergency services are currently at the scene.
City of Cape Town’s Fire and Rescue Services spokesperson Theo Layne said: “Just after 2pm this afternoon the city’s fire and rescue services responded to Cape Town railway station, where we are dealing with one train that is alight. Firefighting efforts are hampered by the thick black smoke that is emitting from the station area.”
No injuries have been reported.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.
