The football season about to reach the business end, and with many of the group stages out the way, it’s time to separate the men from the boys.
That very famous lead at the top of the Premier League table also looking alot different these days, as Liverpool are showing signs of deterioration.
Their latest draw against Aston Villa has many clues, you only needed to watch the game.
Us Manchester United supporters have no place to be talking about the team sitting “okay” at the top, a place we once ruled and know all too well about.
What GoalMouth can’t handle is this sense of superiority as if this current Liverpool team has been dominating the Premier League for years.
Excuse me as I enjoy a good laugh at that.
With a few tough fixtures on the way, Manchester City and then Newcastle, who are both fighting for that same spot, it might actually turn out to be quite a tricky finish for the former Champions of five years ago.
Also remembering, with Arsenal breathing down your necks, they still have a fixture between each which could turn out to be the season decider.
For the neutral fan, we don’t wish to see either winning the league, but for once, GoalMouth is putting a bit of faith into the London boys, who will hopefully make this a worthy fight this season.
I feel for Arsenal fans, every year you sit and hope, you pray, you pay and all you want is a decent trophy to shout about.
I mean, when last has this so called “big team” lifted the Premier League and I won’t mention the Champions League, a competition Arsenal makes an appearance in only… Nothing else, they participate and forget about competing.
I cannot even remember the last time seeing them in a Final.
But hey, a huge club like Manchester United is currently struggling, so no other team will matter at the moment.
Has nobody ever asked why so many rather focus on United and their poor seasons?
This season, the reigning Champions have suffered, Arsenal have suffered as usual, Chelsea showed promise and then disappeared and the smaller clubs all fighting for honours.
It’s really a weird time in the Premier League, but also signs that things are changing and for a long time, people have been saying: “There are no small teams in the Premier League any longer.”
That statement making more sense today, especially with ownership changing hands so quickly.
As for the struggling Manchester United, things have only become worse, but I believe it has to get worse in order to get better.
This was never going to be an easy role or job, taking over one of the best clubs in World football as that seat comes with so much expectation.
Ruben Amorim has to take the punches neatly to the face, but he has to be supported and backed by the club.
The next window he has to be financially backed, easily needing six players at the moment to support this 3-4-3 system that has rocked the team.
By that I mean, we have struggled and we simply are not finding the answers.

So step into my goal and don’t mind to watch your mouth.
