The Kleinmond inniebos Kunstefees (KliK) is set to return later this year, promising a weekend of live music, literature, art and local culture along the scenic Cape Whale Coast.
The three-day festival will take place from Friday, November 27 to Sunday, November 29 in Kleinmond, bringing together artists, writers and performers from across the Western Cape.
Building on the success of its inaugural event in 2025, this year's programme features a mix of music, storytelling, literary discussions and creative workshops.
Among the performers are Kleinmond musicians Frazer Barry and Tribal Echo, who will present a musical performance celebrating South African culture, storytelling and Afrikaans roots music.
Author Khadija Heeger, who was born and raised in Hanover Park but now lives in Parklands, will share insights into her books Beyond the Delivery Room and Thicker than Sorrow during sessions at the Writer's Café. She will also take part in a tribute to renowned poet Diana Ferrus, alongside Frazer Barry and the Mengelmoes Digters writing collective.
Festivalgoers can also attend a discussion with Professor Andries du Toit, author of A Blow to the Head: A History of Violence. Du Toit, who is a Kalk Bay resident, currently based at the University of the Western Cape's School of Governance, will reflect on his memoir-style work exploring South Africa's history of violence.
Aspiring writers will have the opportunity to sharpen their skills during a writing workshop presented by Colleen Higgs, founder and publisher of Modjaji Books.
Beyond the performances and discussions, visitors can browse the two-day indoor KliK Market at the Kleinmond Town Hall, where local exhibitors will offer handmade arts and crafts, festive gifts, artisanal products and a variety of local treats.
The festival is organised by a committee representing several local organisations, including The Grail Centre, Mthimkhulu Community Development, Kleinmond Central Café, Tides Restaurant, the Hangklip Kleinmond Business Forum and the Cape Cultural Collective.
