The inaugural Military Heritage Festival takes place at the Castle of Good Hope this weekend, bringing together collectors, veterans, historians, museums and military heritage enthusiasts.
Visitors can explore military collections featuring medals, uniforms, equipment and historical artefacts, alongside historic military vehicles, living history displays, re-enactments, military music and ceremonial displays.
Experience global sounds at WOMAD Cape Town

Where: Artscape Theatre, Cape Town

WOMAD Cape Town continues this weekend as the 10-day festival brings international and local artists, music, dance and storytelling to venues across the Mother City.
One of Saturday's highlights is the Desmond Tutu United 4 Humanity Peace Concert, celebrating the legacy of Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
Dance into the weekend at a family silent disco
When: Friday, September 18, 6pm–9pm
Where: V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre, Dock Road
Cost: R200 per person
The Family Silent Disco arrives at the V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre on Friday evening, with an interactive family warm-up followed by three DJs playing across separate music channels.
Kids, parents and grandparents can choose their preferred soundtrack and switch between channels throughout the evening.
Get your adrenaline fix at Extreme Festival

Where: Killarney International Raceway, 6 Potsdam Road, Table View
Motorsport fans can head to Killarney International Raceway on Saturday for the Cape Town round of the Extreme Festival.
Expect Extreme Supercars, SA Touring Cars, SupaCup, Polo Cup, open-wheelers and superbikes, alongside karting, drift experiences, food, live entertainment and family activities.
Spend Sunday at Under the Trees Market

Bring your four-legged friend to Woefie Wandel

Dog lovers can head to Green Point Park on Sunday for Woefie Wandel, a family-friendly dog walk and pet fair.
